Introducing our new neuropsychology service

Neuropsychology is a new service provided by Riddiford Neurology. Neuropsychologists assess how brain conditions impact behaviour and cognitive functions.

Neuropsychologists typically work alongside neurologists to assist in evaluating the functioning of different areas and systems of the brain. The evaluation process includes an interview to gather background and health information, as well as neuro-cognitive testing to gain an overall understanding of an individual’s functioning.

Testing covers attention and concentration, language comprehension and expression, visual-perceptual skills, various forms of memory, mood and emotional functioning, and executive functions such as planning and problem solving.

Common conditions assessed by neuropsychologists include concussion, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, stroke, and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Dr Kwok-Keung Leung (PhD) is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist with expertise in neurocognitive and neurodegenerative disorders, as well as neurorehabilitation. He has previously worked at Wellington Hospital as a Consultant Neuropsychologist and is now an associate at Riddiford Neurology. Dr Leung is proficient in both English and Cantonese.
